So, I'm up to Issue #5. I'm just really impressed with how well done and interesting the comic is. The dialogue suffers a bit, now, by feeling dated in some respects. Mostly the "comic book speak" that was common at the time where things were recapped and people were told things they should already know. LOL. But, beyond that... some very nicely developed characters and situations. They really got some great artists on the book. I'd love to see them take the original art (though I imagine it's scattered to the winds) and do a re-color with more modern (but not overdone) colors.

I've been looking at my comics recently too and what really amazes me is how many pages there were and how much of a story there is. The few modern comics I've picked up seem very short with just a few pages and little dialogue. Some of the original art pages have surfaced over the years but no where near a complete comic. It would be kind of fun to color one though. I'm not sure why I've never thought ofdoing that before. Something else to add to my project list!

I finished the series! Really so great. The ending! Oh man, I would have been one sad panda at the end of that as a kid. So many directions it could go. I just loved how complex they made all the interactions. I was struck by the length of it, too. It's one of the things I think has been a big downside to the way comics are done. The style is much fewer panels and 6-issue arcs. It can very often take 5 minutes to read a comic. These were a good 15-20 minutes of reading. It felt like a better deal and so much more substantial. I don't know if most comic readers would accept this today or not, though.
Some questions/thoughts:
1.) Any idea if Coleco planned to make the Wing Thing, or was that just a Marvel creation? It looked pretty cool.
2.) Scorpia (hello name trademark conflict!) was AMAZING. In fact, the females across the board has awesome designs.
3.) Why was Devora's face always in shadow? Just kind of funny because you saw all the rest of her.

My kids are fully into Sectaurs right now and its reignited my passion. We have been reading the storybooks I bought awhile back before bedtime and my 8 year old is making his way through the comics. I reread them last week and agree the density of story is pretty amazing. They really treated earch issue as a potential jumping in point for new readers so the constant exposition can be a turn off. By the time you get to issue 4 you're like, "We know! The whole traitors to the realm thing is just a hoax! GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!" Still, its a great story with art by a young Texeria (90's Ghost rider and Punisher fame).
Definitely recommended to curb your Sectaurs media jones.
