Putting together a website as inclusive as the one I'm building takes a lot of work. I'm starting to understand why the handful of guys who worked on it before seemed to get overwhelmed and stall me out. You've offered some help in the past and I think I'm gonna take you up on that. Right now I'm really bogged down with character bio copy. The style guide has definatly helped with the main 8 & bugs but beyond that I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. I'd like to have the bios in the same writing style as the SG and about the same length (2 paragraphs). Even if you just wrote one it would help out immensly. My list is pretty inclusive and is broken down into 3 groups; Shining Realm, Dark Domain, and Supporting Characters. (I also thought about places and terms sections, but that's someting that can be expanded on later.) Here's who I need bios for - Shining Realm - Belana Draymore Galken, Regent Gnatseye Jumpyr Markor, King Parafly Secor Slikk Stellara Dark Domain - Delphys Devora, Empress Senrad Scorpia Supporting Cast - Ancients, The Crawla Gargantua, The Goblin-King Hadji, The Liana, Queen of the Fairy Folk Medicine Beetle Naurr Shadowmaster Thornets of the Dead Forest Tyranna Beetle Vennepedes Vypex That's what I have so far. I'm going to start watching the cartoon again tomorrow to see if there are any other notable characters to profile. Let me know if or what you'd like to work on.

I would be more than willing to help but I really need to brush up on my Sectaurs first. I haven't read the comics or any of the books in years and I'm not even sure where my cartoons are anymore. I thought I had them on vhs but I dug through all my tapes not too long ago and I don't remember seeing them. Even if I did have them around here it's not going to do me much good because all three of my vcrs eat tapes

Yes I do remember when that whole DVD thing was going on. I didn't pay much attention to it since I was content at the time just having the series on VHS. Speaking of those busts, did you ever end up making any or did that get dropped somewhere along the way?

Speaking of those busts, did you ever end up making any or did that get dropped somewhere along the way? Honestly, I never got his hair right. But otherwise he's been sitting on my project shelf for years. I made an attempt on the hair at least 3 times and it just looked like poop. I should take a picture of him. I used a 1/6 scale resin cast skull as an armature so he's just sitting there with no hair and his skull sticking out. And since I sculpted him out of Super Sculpy he's flesh colored, with this bone colored skull. It looks pretty bizarre. Even after all these years I'm pretty proud of the sculpt. With a little work and a new base he'd look pretty good. Yeah, like I need another project.

Would you be opposed to getting some fan help with some of the copy? My already full plate just got a little fuller (more on that later) and I thought I'd give some other fans an opportunity to contribute.
I thought about putting some feeler threads out on some forums to see if i can get any volunteers and anyone else with any rarities to respond. Like the people who won the '86 presskit or anyone else who won blueprints from Toyathon.
I know this is technically my website but I feel like you're like my VP in all this and I value your oppinion.
Let me know what you think.
Did you see this post?

Nope I didn't see that post and then moments ago I accidentally deleted it...just woke up, my eyes were a little fuzzy, I thought it was the quote button So anyway I think its a fine idea. I had already been thinking about trying to get some of the other Sectaurs fans of the world over here somehow to help move things along. Plus I know there has got to be other stuff out there that both of us missed along the way somewhere that we need to draw back out again. If you want me to I can try to make the forum a little more beefy instead of just one section and a private section. If so let me know what kind of sections you think I should do.

You know, I always intended to add a forum to the site so I guess once the site is up this can just change over to the official site forum. Sound good?
Ok, cool. I'll get the feelers out about copy. I still have some email addys of old .org members too. I'll shoot them an email and let 'em know that launch is approaching.
Ha, this is awesome! ;D (I'm such a dork.)
Oh, by the way. I tried to burn the DVD for you and it's copy protected. A bootleg DVD copy protected? That's rich!

Sounds good to me! When I first started this for us I was thinking of trying to turn it into something like the old .org forum but I figured you would be wanting a forum on your site and I didn't want to step on your toes sorta speak. I have about 25 different forums bookmarked, not sure if I remember the passwords for all. If you're planning on doing a generic posting post it here and I'll copy and paste it to all of them if you want. Or if you just want me to sit tight I can do that too. Just guide me oh master of the Shining Realm!

So I got an email from a volunteer for writing copy for characters. Turns out the guy is a comic shop owner in Wisconsin and has an e-newletter for his shop with about 10,000 subscribers currently. He's going to include a little blurb about Sectaurs.com in the newsletter that he'll be sending out right before launch.
That coupled with us getting the word out and trippled with Figures.com already commiting to write an editorial right after launch (did I forget to mention that?) we're going to have quite the little media blitz.
I started feeling a little pressure today. ;D
