I got another Mantor variant in the mail today and a complete loose Pinsor & Battle Beetle. I got the other Pinsor & BB to make the outrageous shipping price worth it. I won Mantor for $2 and shipping was going to be $11. The seller said unlimited combined items shipped for $11, so I got the whole lot for $16 shipped.
So the Mantor is like a super-teal version. He's a shade less green than my green Mantor but a way darker teal than my teal one. But then I noticed something about both him and Pinsor. They both have translucent antaneas with little gold speckles in them. None of my other loose figures have these and I looked at all of my packaged Sectaurs. Only my Mantys/Graplor have these clear antanaes. Also, both of their belts are softer and more pliable than any of other belts I have. And their heads are more solid and don't have that slight bobble to them. The heads are solidly in their necks with no play.
So, I'm guessing these are super early run figures. They are in dynamite shape. The seller didn't know they were Sectaurs and had them listed as "bugman toys". Now I wish I had bought the entire lot of em.

Are they almost like a white or cream color? I think I have seen them before, may even have some but I'm not positive. First time I saw them I thought they were just faded but the color was too uniform to just be faded.

I'm assuming you mean the antaenas.
Their not white or cream, their a translucent yellow. I'll try and get some pics of them. I'm not sure if they'll turn out.
I'll get a group shot of all my Mantor's too.

I have some Sectaurs from my childhood that had the semi translucent antennae.
Zak/Bitaur and Pinsor had them as I recall.

I like the idea of semi-translucent antennae! That would have been very cool.

The only figure I have in my collection close to a variant is Mantor and it's just very slight paint variation.
Never seen the translucent antenna, but that sounds awesome!!

One of the figures I got from an auction today seems to have translucent antennae. I'll take a pic. I can't tell if it's a variant or maybe the silver just faded and left it clear? But surely they'd just cast it in silver? It looks nice, though. So, this is my first Sectaur collection. Boxed ones are on their way to me for most... but I have to ask.. some of the heads seem very squishy and some are hard. Did all figures have both? Or did it vary character to character? I like the hard heads better. My Spidrax is squishy headed. It looks fine, just seems like the hard-headed ones have more nicely defined details... unless that's just in my head.

I have two complete sets of Sectaurs and the antennae colors vary a lot for the heroic figures - vs. each other and vs. two samples of the same figure. I always thought aging played a factor in how light or dark the coloration is. My Dargons have a gold color, Zak and Pinsor are more platinum and Mantor is like a dark bronze. My head spins that there may be actual variances from the factory.

There are definitely factory variations on the antenna colors. Some of the earlier ones have a more transparent look to them. As for the variations in the solid colors I believe some are due to age and how they were played with and/or stored. However I'm sure there were minor variations in color due to the factory as well. The weapons are another place you can see some variation in color also.
The Brazilian black armor Night Fighting Dargon does exist. We have been trying to add one to our collection for quite a while but haven't been able to find one. We've seen a few over the years but nothing we were able to purchase. We've never seen a carded one either.

Thanks for your reply ! Do you have pictures of this brazilian variant ? Are you sure they are from MIMO ? Is it possible this variant is only a regular NF Dargon that lost his silver color (the black armor could be the black base color of his chest) ?

I don't have a pic of it personally but here it is up for sale on MercadoLivre: produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-587972106-lote-com-02-bonecos-antigos-sectaurs-glasslite-anos-80-_JMI unfortunately can't buy it because I'm located in the USA. All of the Mimo Sectaurs figures are lacking the paint applications on the bodies. NF Dargon is cast in black so without the silver paint application he remains black. I don't believe it is an error of any sort because the other figures were made the same way, without the over spray. I'm pretty confident they were produced by Mimo and not Glasslite because I have a few carded figures from Mimo.

Thanks for your reply again !
You are right...MIMO brought Sectors to my country !
It seens the 'black armor' on MercadoLivre was made by TOWNS and not MIMO !!!
I know the regular silver (NF) Dargon was released by MIMO here but the one on the auction is TOWNS !
Are you sure all black variants known are MIMO...

I'm wondering if this is the correct place to post this question, what I want to know is if there is any difference in the packaging for the hyve that would denote the inclusion of the hyve mini comic? Like an assortment # or something?

As far as I'm aware there is no way to tell what mini comic is inside the Hyve without opening the box. Over the years when I was trying to track down a Hyve mini I bought, opened and sold quite a few Hyves with no luck. So really I've never seen a boxed Hyve with the Hyve mini to know if there is any difference.
